From "good" to "excellent” through GIKIL’s Business Excellence model

By introducing the Business Excellence Initiative based on Malcolm Baldrige, as one of the world's most acknowledged models of business excellence, Global Ispat Koksna Industrija d.o.o. Lukavac (GIKIL) has started its journey from "good" to "excellent" - is a message from the ceremony organized on this occasion in the company.

"With this, in fact, we are starting a new journey we are striving for through the institutionalization of the integrated GIKIL model of business excellence. In this way we will empower the organization to achieve its goals, improve its results and thereby increase its competitiveness," said Paramesh Bhattacharyya, Managing Director of GIKIL.

The Baldrige Program provides a framework for improving performance in organization toward efficiency and innovation, which supports additionally the fact why this is one of the world's most widely-used business excellence model whose self-assessment framework is being a role for many other models.

The Baldrige Success Criteria are based on principles such as Leadership, Strategy, Customer, Workforce, Measurement Analysis and Knowledge Management, Operations and Results.

"The combination of the first six principles together with the results, as a way of focusing the quality system on meeting the set goals, shows where we stand and by that the way we need to move further. The main purpose of the set criteria is to improve the competitiveness by focusing on two goals, and that are the continuous improvement of the value given to client and the advancement of the overall organizational processes, "said Poonam Wangnoo, GIKIL's expert associate.

The Malcolm Baldrige model puts the accent on the satisfaction of customers, employees and community, by which the company will make another step up to fulfill its outlined vision.
