It gives me a great pleasure in introducing an organization that has made its mark in the process of Industrial Reconstruction and Development after the War in Bosnia and Herzegovina. November 10th 2003 was a golden day when Global Infrastructure Holding Ltd., now known as Global Steel Holding Ltd., led by Mr. Pramod Mittal signed the contract with Goverment of Tuzla canton, thus marking the beginning of a new era in the production of coke, chemical products and energy in Lukavac, B&H. GIKIL as a company was registered on May 11th 2004. The record time commissioning of the operations, more specifically its Coke Oven Battery saw the formal inauguration on July 8th 2004. The ceremony was attended by the highest state representatives, strategic partners and the Mittal family including the founder chairman of ISPAT Mr. Mohan Lal Mittal and chairman GSHL Mr. Pramod Mittal. Apart from producing high quality graded coke, the company also caters to the industry in Europe with Anhydride Maleic Acid and Mineral Fertilizers in addition to providing Consulting Services in Erection and Maintenance of equipments and plants in the coke and chemical production industry. The other notable feature is the Power Plant, which apart from meeting its internal demand, supplies to the State grid as well. GIKIL in the years to come will be a force to reckon with in Europe, considering the quality of its products that will by far exceed the customer's requirement. Plans are on hand to add a new battery with Chinese stamp charging technology. It will have the same capacity as the existing one. With this, it will be possible to capture 100% of European market. GIKIL has already put Bosnia and Herzegovina on the TPM map of the World and the Bosnian flag was seen flying high in Japan in March 2009 while GIKIL bagged the TPM excellence award.
