Government Of Tuzla Canton Supported Development Project Of GIKIL PDF Print

Government Of Tuzla Canton made Decision which provides support to Global Ispat Koksna Industrija Lukavac for applying to the credit funds of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), in particular for development projects of coke gas cleaning and power production, production of the foundry coke based on Chinese technology and other environmental projects. Decision was made on 24th regular meeting of Government Of Tuzla Canton held on November 4, 2011.

We would like to remind you that expanding the product range of Global Ispat Koksna Industrija Lukavac and powerful entry into the field of energy and electricity production were the topics of the meeting between Management of GIKIL represented by Managing Director Guntupalli Jagannadham and Minister of Industry, Energy and Mining of Tuzla Canton, Zeljko Knezicek, on October 14, 2011.

As highlighted at that meeting, due to stabilization of its financial results, GIKIL has started with implementation of a number of new projects, such as start with the production of the foundry coke, increase in electricity production from the current 10 to about 30 megawatts and  a variety of types of projects with aim to improve environmental standards that will be harmonized with European Union norms.

"We expect that investments in these development projects will be about 130 million U.S. dollars, for which the EBRD has given its consent in principle“ said then Managing Director of GIKIL Guntupalli Jagannadham and added that EBRD has already received the positive report from its team of experts that have been in GIKIL.
