GIKIL starts with implementation of elements taken from the directives of the European Union within its environmental permit |

The company „Global Ispat Koksna Industrija“ d.o.o Lukavac was appointed as a pilot plant for the issue of environmental permit within the project „Support to the implementation of the IPPC Directive in Bosnia and Herzegovina".
GIKIL received environmental permit on 27th January 2012, but company continue to invest its efforts in order to give contribution in process of association of B&H to European Union with the help of IPCC project results. And also prove that the greening of industry is a positive development for both citizens and industry.
„We were active participants in this project and worked with the IPPC Team from Sarajevo and representatives of the Ministry of Environment and Tourism of Federation of B&H. Concrete results are that we learned many things from the experts from the European Union, whose we are already implementing in GIKIL, and of course we got environmental permit, said Jasmin Imsirovic, Main Engineer for Ecology in GIKIL.
According to him, GIKIL is the first company in B&H who will start to implement the elements directly taken from the directives of the European Union within its environmental permit.
„Since our foundation in 2004, we in GIKIL have done a series of projects related to environment protection, either on the issue of air pollution and more on the issue of water pollution. This is just a continuation of the story, of course in accordance with EU directives. Through our participation in the project, we want to give full support to the integrated approach to sustainable development and to comply with the directive on integrated pollution prevention and control", said Imsirovic.
However, the overall objective of the IPPC project, in which GIKIL have participated, is to strengthen the administrative capacity of institutions involved in environmental protection and ensuring the implementation of already transposed the EU legislation.
