Eminent experts of Japanese Institute for Plant Maintenance, Yoshitaka Murase i Masao Sudo, performed Final assessment for the Award for Consistent TPM Commitment in „Global Ispat Koksna Industrija“ d.o.o. Lukavac, during the weekend. Results of the tasks, which these two experts set up to GIKIL on the occasion of their last visit to this company, were the focus of the final assessment.
The program of final assessment was opened with TPM activity presentations of A schedule which took place in “Mohan Lal Mittal" Auditorium. The session was accompanied by questions set by assessors after each presentation.
Following Pillar presentations were introduced as follows: * Chapter 1,2,3 and 13 – Faik Busevac * Kobetsu Kaizen (Chapter 4) - Elvir Turkic * Jishu Hozen (Chapter 5) - Fuad Muminovic * Planned Maintenance (Chapter 6) - Elnedin Omerdic * Quality Control (Chapter 7) - Ermin Mujkic * Initial Flow Control ( Chapter 8) - Zuhdija Aganovic * Education & Training (Chapter 9) – Semir Softic * Office TPM (Chapter 10) – Suad Dubravic * Safety, Health and Environment (Chapter 11) – Jasmin Imsirovic * Supply Chain Management (Chapter 12) – Jasmin Ovcina
Second part of Final assessment performed by JIPM experts was reserved for on-site presentations.
Project of Planned maintenance pillar „High temperature of compressor bearing” was presented in AMK plant whereas project of Jishu Hozen pillar „Zero Dust horizontal replication on conveyors in Coke Separation and Coal Preparation Departments”, project of Safety, Health and Environment pillar „Reduction of injuries on Coke Plant through KYT” and project of Education & Training pillar „ Failure based training: Regulation of sub pressure in smoke channel” were presented in Coke plant.
Project of Quality maintenance pillar „Granulation of KAN - Relationship between Q condition on output quality” was presented in Fertilizer plant, while in Energy plant were presented project of Jishu Hozen pillar „ Presentation of Step 5,6 and participation of JH members in maintenance of turbine blades on RK Turbine in Energy Plant” and project of Kobetsu Kaizen pillar „ Reduction of steam loss on Boiler No.3” were presented in Energy plan.
Project of Supply Chain Management pillar „Cost reduction through reduction of Lead Time in ammonia supply Chain” and project of Office TPM pillar „Makigami analysis in offices” were presented in the Administration building.
On the occasion of final comments of assessors, it was concluded that GIKIL showed good results in many working areas such as cost reduction, involvement of operators, reducing defects to zero, equipment maintenance, reducing the time for inspection, cleaning and lubrication, etc. However, Japanese experts emphasized that there is still lot of space for improvement.
„ It is clear that we did not reach our maximum, but it is very important that all of us in GIKIL consistently are implementing TPM methodology for years and achieving remarkable results. Be sure that we will continue to follow your guidelines and achieve improvements ", said Deputy Managing Director, Faik Busevac, during his final speech.
Committee of Japanese Institute for Plant Maintenance (JIPM), with about 50 members, will meet on 28th January 2012 and decide on the audit results, or whether GIKIL will win its second award - Award for Consistent TPM Commitment. JIPM will officially announce the results on its Web site on 6th February 2012 and awards will be consigned in March 2012 in the Japanese city of Kyoto.
